Revenge of the Pieman: A Hatter's Cove Gazette...is about Kit Katherine Archer, a reporter for the Gazette, a local newspaper, other members of the newspaper staff, and her friends. Revenge of the Pieman is a story that is about this famous food critic, that goes by the name of the Pieman, who likes to ruin other people's lives. He does this because of his own failures and because of his personality and interrelationships with others, he gets killed. Now Kit who is also a food critic, starts to investigate his murder as she believes he didn't commit suicide. This is where you find the story pulls you in more and more as the author builds up the background and personalities of the characters and how they all work together to solve the murders of the Pieman, and others. Each character has had a past with another character, such as Kit and Joe, who works in a restaurant that the police chief's mother-in-law owns, knew each other from school. As did another character, Blair, go to school with Joe. The past and present of the story line make it a story you will want to read until the suspenseful end.Product details

A lot of fun. Love it. Very funny.
There is no deep dark torturous secrets to agonize over. No need. Just pure funny murder mystery.
This is entertaining and the characters are interesting. Fun story line and look forward to more stories from this author
I enjoy a book because I enjoyed the characters. This one had to many annoying characters. I love Kat and Hayden, but the rest of them were too mean for my liking.(I constantly wanted to kill Minnie, myself!) I will try another Hatter's Cove mystery, I do like Kat!
But no apparently I was wrong again. There was a lot of second guessing on everyone's part including mine. I love it when you're so wrapped up in the book you can't put it down to even get some sleep. Please tell me there's more to come with these characters. You definitely can't stop here Ms. Crabtree.
I really like this story the characters are good ad the plot keeps you guessing. It is funny and some of the food they describe will make you hungry. Kat is a great sleuth even if Minnie, the new intern, is getting in the way accusing everyone of murder and putting both of them in danger. With the help of the police and her boss, though, she'll look for clues to who killed the rather universally disliked Pieman. It was a great book.
Pretty good little mystery. The suspects all had plausible motives, and I didn't guess the killer's identity straight off. The second half of the book felt rushed. I started getting people mixed up. The Pieman was a good victim--so many plots! Fun little book.
Kat Archer is still the food critic for the Hatter's Cove Gazette. She's not thrilled, but at least she's also getting some real stories to whet her appetite for investigative journalism. When the two worlds overlap, she jumps into action, trying to solve the mysterious death (was it suicide, as the cops think, or murder, as she thinks?) of the competitive newspaper's food critic, dubbed The Pieman. He had just told Kat the previous night how he was retiring from being food critic to write sensational blog, premiering with the outing of a murderer!
As with #1 in the series, Crabtree packs quite a bit into a novella.
Could have used a reread from an editor, though.
