Another wonderful story by Elizabeth Rose. She is a writer that gets you really into the story and it is no long drawn out. She lets know the scenery without a lot of detail of what everything is. I hope you will enjoy reading this story as much as I did.
Good action, loving book. The English and Scottish at each other again. Those of you that like pets, Sudan has a cute little squirrel. There is also a wildcat as The
Great Dane. They all turn into a chasing mess. Nice book.
Another riveting fast paced read that historical romance readers won't want to miss. Had all those elements and beautiful background and setting with a captivating plots that will melt your heart and take you on a grand escape! Highly recommend Elizabeth Rose latest release!
Aidan is suppose to guard the Stone of Destiny for the Scottish. Effie has to find the stone for the English or her sister will be killed. She finds that Aidan has the stone and uses it for a pillow. When she helps the stone to be stolen she feels guilty about it but it's for a good reason. Can Aidan get the stone back and forgive Efffie her part in it being stolen?
An exciting, VERY romantic book. Effie McDuff needs to find the Stone of Destiny to hand over to the English to save her sister. She hates the idea of betraying her country, but her family comes first. Aidan MacKeefe is the protector of the Stone, keeping Scotland's secret from the English. He uses it as a pillow and has a dream of a Scottish angel. When he meets Effie, he feels it is destiny that she is that angel. Effie falls for Aidan and hates to lie and betray him and is afraid to tell him the truth. Many twists and turns in this story that made me read it one day. As much as I enjoy steamy romance, I felt is was over done in this book. Being entangled with each other was all they seemed to think about and do. "A little less is more." That is why I gave it a lower rating. All in all, still a very fun read.
I was totally blown away with the character development of the author not only in this novel but in every one of them that weave themselves into the storyline of the Mackeefes. This author is so amazing with all the stories she writes that interweave themselves like a tapestry bringing to life a place and time where people actually lived under such harsh conditions and still survived to bring forth the next generation and their stories which had their places in time and history for making the world a better place to live or allowing greed and self-centeredness to take over and destroy what the generations of Mackeefs suffered and died to build. All these books are so unique and so extremely well developed, I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series. Totally awesome read!!.
The MacKeefe clan has got the honour of guarding the Stone of Destiny, and keeping the secret of the fact that the one the English took is not the real one. Adian MacKeefe has been using it as a pillow to sleep on, in the hope it will give him prophetic dreams.
His best friends and fellow "mad men " tease him mercilessly when he tells them of the dream he had.
Effie MacDuff and her younger sister have been captured by an English lord because of her family's historic connection with the Stone. He will go to any lengths to find and take control of it to give to the English King. Effie must protect her sister even if that means betraying her heritage.
Lots of laughs and danger in this second book in the series. The relationship between the Mad Men MacKeefe is as strong as brothers. Their unusual pets also give us lots of giggles. Our poor heroine has had a hard life and it just got a whole lot harder.
Great fun. Now I need to read the last in the box set.
