From the very beginning of Roamer, my attention was captured! I tend to enjoy more classical books, but I couldn't put down. I even read it twice! The author was very descriptive and I could see myself inside the story. I have told my family this is a must read...after I was done.
Im not gonna say this is a bad book, but I personally would not purchase this. I was lost, confused, and puzzled from the beginning. It jumps around alot and leaves alot of doors opened that never got closed. Like when he ran into the homless shelter surrounded with food, when did he actually sit down? I thought he just got into the room and turned to watch the door he came through n seen blitz run by and again when he seen that everyone had plates that had chicken steak n pork wouldn't he have noticed then they all had more than 1 plate and not after he grabbed 2 for himself? Or in the beginning where i was confused, was he working with his dad as a kid to gain his wealthyness like his dad or just got wealthy cause his dad died? Did he ever work in his lifetime? It's just confusing. I feel if u start this out as talking on gibby as a kid before his dad died, then work to where and how he got to his position as a homeless man instead of jumping back n forth, it would be a bit more interesting. I wish you the best of luck, But I'm sorry, this isnt a book for my purchasing.
Science fiction lovers look out, a new and promising author has entered the game and he's brought a story that will keep you guessing and wanting more.
This is the first time I have read an authors first book and it did not dissapoint. It kept me interested and intrigued throughout and made me excited for what else this budding author has to offer to the world of literature.
My only gripe with the book is its point of narration. The characters are well developed and interesting enough, but the author hit a snag with who tells what part of the story. For most of the book it is from our main character, Sev's, point of view. Sev is a mysterious experiment who's whole life has been behind the walls of a science lab. Besides having little contact with people who are also experiments or doctors, he gives a very good narrative on his life, his hatred for the doctors and his desire to leave. Once out in the real world, he sets off on an adventure of self discovery and life threatening experiences, but my gripe comes when the narration goes to the narrator himself when describing the point of view from villans and other characters. Mr. Lockwood already has a good point of view narrative from Sev himself, but switching perspective in the middle of the story repeatedly detered me from what was happening, but in the long run, it still was a good story.
In my personal opinion, any science fiction fan would love this story. Give it a chance and see for yourself the humbe beginning of a fantastic adventure.
