This is a story about an antique dealer named Evangeline, who upon losing everything is trying to make a go of it as a small business owner(Antiques Store). She lives in kind of a scary neighborhood. She is barely scraping by and the only friend she has is Sarah a waitress at a coffee shop across from her store. Her life is very mundane until a stranger moves in the apartment above hers. The man only goes out at night. Without giving too much away curiousity gets the better of Evangeline and she follows him one night. She witnesses something unexpected. Again I don't want to give this part away. She now believes he is a bad person and is fearful of him. As it turns out he is not what he appears to be. Shawn Maravel did a great job portraying duality in this character, the man from apartment 6C. It is clear Shawn has done some good research and she mentions this at the end of the book siting a documentary which I have also seen which explains the struggle this character has and how realistic this would be in real life. This authors writing style just keeps getting better with each story, I have read all her books and she has shown a wide range of storytelling ability from the variety of subjects she delves into. I would recommend this book to anyone, it has a little bit of everything in it

Evangeline a former child of money takes up residence in a less than desirable apartment in a not so good part of town. None the less, she is able to make it her own as she struggles to make due with an antiques shop she runs. Her escapes from reality come from her choices in books but soon a new tenant moves in to her building. Mystery surrounds this new tenant and Evangeline will discover something she didn't expect to find. From start to finish the story truly flourishes to magnificence. There is enough for all tastes, so pick up this book and enjoy a great story that is sure to leave you asking for more.
Where is the light at the end of the tunnel when things are spinning out of control. Shawn Maravel has done it again with heart warming characters that will cause any reader to feel for these two two characters. Ev. (sorry spelling bare with the shortened version)is at the end of her rope after being kicked to the ground so many times in life. She walks through life disheartened as she has lost her parents and her store that she owns is nearing closure. Now we might not all have been in that situation, but Ev is a character all readers can relate to and wish they can have a hang out to cheer her up. She starts to really sit on edge though after years of overdoing it with books (like that's possible!) and living alone when a new neighbor comes in, John Smith and Ev feels like her life has been thrown into a mystery book.

Know thy Neighbor is a real page turner that will have the readers competely soaked into each and every page wanting to know what happens. This is a different genre then her other books, but Shawn has continued to show that she is up to any challenge and created a great book. I have the e-book copy and I will be getting a paperback copy because it is a must read! )
