There is a part of me that wants to hate Aria and Carter’s story. A big piece that knows their love isn’t healthy. But, the bigger part of me loves them. Loves how toxic they are. Loves that she tames part of his wild and he releases part of hers. Endless was an explosive conclusion to the Merciless saga, and I am eagerly anticipating more books in this world, mostly so I can back in on Aria and Carter.Aria seemed to finally be coming into her own in the previous book, Breathless, but she really showed the world she was more than the terrified, sheltered girl we’d first met in Merciless. For the most part, she was still very submissive when it came to Carter, but she had a spine of steel when it mattered most and she easily held command in a situation she would have never been able to before her time with Carter. Aria has grown and evolved so much in this series; I sometimes wonder if she would recognize her former self at all if confronted with it.
Carter came to some incredible revelations in this book. There were moments he seemed almost human – kind, even – something beyond the brutal dictator he’d been throughout the rest of this series. His moods were as mercurial as ever, but with the help of a few well-chosen words from trusted confidants he was able to see the truth within his soul and know how to tend to and express the emotions in a meaningful way.
Endless was rife with tension and emotion. There was so much on the line at the end of Breathless and with the new information that came to light in Endless, there was only more. Ms. Winters added so many more threads of intrigue into this world; I’m sure we’ll be unraveling them all for some time. I’m happy that the threads that were introduced helped Carter and Aria to find a place where they could find love and acceptance in one another, but I am eagerly anticipating what those revelations will mean for these characters and the rest of the brothers going forward.
Endless is the fourth and final book in W. Winter’s Merciless saga. These books are no standalones and must be read for cohesion. There are a couple of other books, Possessive and A Kiss to Tell, that are a huge part of this world and I would suggest reading before starting this series. Endless is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Aria and Carter.

Endless Merciless Book 4 edition by W Winters Willow Winters Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
“The moment I saw him, I knew deep in the marrow of my bones that I belonged to this man. The other half to my soul. Holding his life to mine is the worst thing I’ve ever felt in this world.”
Willow Winters has written an epic love tale of two star-crossed lovers in her Merciless Series. Endless is the final book in the story of Aria and Carter, people from different families at odds with each other. Through each of the books in the series, whether you approved of Carter’s methods of obtaining Aria or his ways of keeping her, it was written in the stars that these two would end up together.
I was thankful to get my hands on an ARC of this book because Winters left us with a cliffhanger in the third book of the series, Breathless. At the start of this book, that cliffhanger is resolved quickly, but our H/h struggle to reconcile their relationship. In fact, that is THE struggle of this book can people from different families who hate each other, even though they love each other, be together “endlessly?” You will need to read the book to find out.
I think the goal of Winters for this book was humanizing Carter. In the first three books, he embodies the role of head of a crime family. He inhabits this role in such a way that his humanity doesn’t exist. He allows himself to take Aria and hold her captive, taking her virtue at any time. Until he finds his humanity, his self-sacrifice, he cannot be with Aria.
Even more, until Aria recognizes her own power in her choice and in her family, the two can have no future. Once she becomes a woman of strength, her fate with Carter is determined.
Together, Aria and Carter are the power of this book. The rest of the story is ancillary to their struggle and the resolution of their struggle. Honestly, for most of the book, my stomach hurt because they could not come together. Unfortunately, tragedy must strike in order for them to fully recognize the truth of their relationship. In this moment, my stomach stopped hurting, and I could finally relax. “I’m where I’m supposed to be. Beside Carter Cross. Our present and our future tied together. ‘We will rule. That’s what’s going to happen, my songbird.’”
Like the first three books, this book is just as angsty up until the very end. You will love Aria and Carter and root for them even when all hope seems lost. Winters has created a compelling story that will continue on with Jace’s story (and I hope Nikolai’s, Declan’s, etc.) It will rip your heart out a bit but patch it back together in the end.
Overall 5 Star Read
I don't know where to start, I've just finished the fourth, and for me at least the last book in this series, and I am left stunned . It ended without an epilogue, no wrap up, nothing to let us know about where the characters ended up. The next ,and final chapter was about Jase, the male protagonist brother, because the author wants you to buy her next book. I feel ripped off, but I've felt that thru the entire series. I continued because there is a story that's interesting, but repetitive. The books are short, don't let the reported number of pages fool you, a good ten percent of the end of each book is a sneak peak of other books she wants you to buy. Overall I give this series a two and a half rating. In other words, I want my money back.
